It is a unit affiliated to the Vice-Dean for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research and it specializes in raising the efficiency and effectiveness of the College as one of the distinguished research centers that works to develop participation and cooperation with educational and research institutions and centers and the community locally, regionally and internationally. It also aims to encourage innovative research in rare and distinctive disciplines.

Objectives

• The Continuous encouragement of scientific research in the College and the facilitation of the procedures related thereto.
• The constant endeavor to raise the level of scientific research in the College through cooperation with the leading institutions in this field.
   

Mission

• To supervise the activities and development of the faculty's capabilities in the field of scientific research.
• To oversee the development of the research strategy and plan and to set up mechanisms for its implementation in the College.
• To supervise the provision of financial support for research from the university and from funding agencies outside it.
• To co-ordinate with the Deanship of Scientific Research at the university, the research center of the College, and other research institutions regarding conducting research and obtaining support for it.
• To encourage the creation of distinguished science chairs or research centers of excellence.
• To submit periodic reports to the College Dean on the unit's work progress according to the tasks assigned to it and the difficulties it faces.

Responsibilities of the head of the unit

• To set up development plans to support scientific research in the College and follow up on its implementation.
• To supervise the activities and development of the College research capabilities.
• To supervise the provision of financial support for research from the university and from funding agencies outside it.
• To prepare a database of recognized publishing agencies in coordination with the college departments.
• To prepare an updated database on the scientific production of faculty members in the College.
• To prepare an annual report on the scientific research activities in the College and submit it to the Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research.
